Spending time in prayer is one of the best ways you can let God heal your broken heart from a relationship.
When I had a broken heart, I felt all alone in a new city without any friends. I spent several Friday nights on my couch praying and crying out to God, asking him to heal my heartbreak.
And as I prayed for my broken heart to be healed, God gave me the strength to move on from my past relationship.
God gave me joy again, and he helped me see that he was working all things for good, even my broken heart.

God hears all your prayers, and he is the one that will give you comfort and strength in this season as he heals your broken heart.

God, I pray for help to control the thoughts in my mind today. I declare that I have the mind of Christ, and I hold every thought captive to the word of God.
If a thought or memory is not from you Lord, I reject it in the name of Jesus.
Help me to focus and think of those things that are positive, honorable, and praiseworthy. Help me to dwell on the future you have for me instead of the past. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God, I thank you for your presence today. Give me the desire to draw close to you during this time. Overwhelm me with your presence, and help remind me that you are always with me.
I thank you that you hear my prayers and that you know what I’m thinking. You know how I am how I’m feeling, and I thank you that you are close to me today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God, I thank you that you are healing my broken heart. Today, I pray for strength. Your word promises to renew my strength, you are my strength and my shield.
Thank you for giving me the strength to get out of bed today. Thank you for giving me the strength to go to work today and to experience life all around me.
And thank you for giving me the strength to spend time with you and to trust that you are working all things for good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God, I thank you that you are in control. You are my Heavenly Father, you created everything on this Earth and you know what I need.
I surrender the past and my broken heart to you, and I trust that you will show me my future. I trust that you will use this time for good.
I trust that you are in control of my future. You know who my future husband is, and I thank you for bringing us together in your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
When I had a broken heart, it was hard to see that God had someone better for me. But the husband God had for me didn’t even compare to the guy that had broken my heart.

Lord, I surrender my broken heart to you today. Help me to feel your peace in this season as I heal from this relationship.
Jesus, you are the prince of peace and I thank you for the gift of peace today.
Help me to rest and be still in your presence, and know that you are healing my broken heart and that you have a future for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” – John 16:22 ESV
“…Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!” – Nehemiah 8:10
God, help me to feel your joy today. Help me to laugh again, and to see the good that you are doing all around me.
The joy of the Lord is my strength, and today I choose joy because I have you God and I am loved by you.
And I pray that I take back any joy that the enemy has stolen from me. God, I will worship and praise you even when I don’t feel like it because you are my God. And this I know, you are for me.
And today I pray that joy bubbles up inside of me. Holy Spirit, help me to feel your joy and laughter again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God, I surrender my worries and anxiety to you. I do not need to be anxious and worried about the future, because you are my God.
I release these feelings to you, and I pray that you help me take control of my mind. I declare that I do not have a spirit of fear or anxiety, but a spirit of love, power, and a sound mind. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:31-32 NIV
God, I surrender these feelings of anger, bitterness and rage to you. Help me to see this person how you see them Lord.
Help me to not feel angry or bitter when I think of them. I release these feelings to you Lord. Show me how to have peace with the situation and let these feelings go. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
How do I pray to let go?
Surrendering the person to God is the first step in letting go. Pray and release the person to God, and trust that God is in control.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV
“This I know: God is for me.” – Psalm 56:9 CSB
God, I surrender this person and my broken heart to you. I let them go, and I release them to you.
I trust that you are in control, and that if we were meant to be together, you would make a way.
But today I choose to let them go. I surrender them to you, and I trust that you know what is best for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
“Do not remember the past events; pay no attention to things of old. Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it?” – Isaiah 43:18-19 CSB
God, I pray that you help me move on from the past. I thank you for healing my broken heart, and for showing me how to move forward.
I will not dwell on the things of the past, and I trust that you have a future for me. Help me focus on Jesus and all that you are doing in my life. I surrender the past to you Lord, help me to move on today and show me the future you have for me.
Lord, I trust that you know the future and plans that you have for me, plans for hope and a future, plans to prosper and not be harmed.
I trust you Lord, and that I will not have a broken heart forever. I will move on, and I trust that you will bring the right person that you have for me into my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.” – Matthew 6:14 NLT
God, help me forgive this person. I know it is not healthy to hold onto this resentment and unforgiveness. I surrender these feelings to you Lord. You know how I feel, help me to forgive this person.
Lord, I surrender this person to you. I forgive this person for what they have done, and I release them to you. I surrender any unforgiveness, any resentment or any better bitterness towards this person to you Lord. Help me to forgive them in my heart and move on.
Just like you have forgiven me for all my sins, I forgive this person for hurting me and for breaking my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God, I pray to break the soul tie with this person that broke my heart. I confess that I have sinned and been an ungodly relationship.
I renounce any soul tie that has formed, and I break it in the name of Jesus.
I declare that the soul tie with this person has been broken and I am no longer bonded or attach them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God, I pray that you surround me with godly friends and good influences during this time.
Thank you for bringing me true friends who encourage me and left me up during this time.
I thank you for surrounding me with friends that know how to pray and declare your word, and who will help me on this healing journey. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” - Psalm 23:4 ESV
God, I surrender my feelings of loneliness to you. I thank you that you never leave me, and that you are always by my side.
Help me to feel your love and presence today. And I pray that you show me and remind me of all the friends and family that I have in my life to comfort me during this time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God, I surrender my feelings of feeling rejected to you. I know that you have not rejected me. You have not abandoned me. And this this breakup does not mean that I am rejected.
Help me to feel your love again. Help me to feel seen and valued in your eyes. This breakup does not define me. I am not rejected in your eyes, I am deeply loved.
I am wonderfully and remarkably made. I am precious in your sight and you delight in me Lord. Thank you for helping me feel loved and treasured. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you for sending your angels to protect me and watch over me and my dreams. I pray that I won’t dream of my past relationship as I sleep.
Let me fall asleep tonight in your arms Lord, and I thank you for a restful night sleep. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God, I pray that you show me how to feel gratitude in the season. Even though I have a broken heart, I have so much to be thankful for.
Today, I choose to praise and thank you for all that you are doing in my life. You have always been there for me, and this is not the end.
Thank you for all of the friends and family you’ve surrounded me with. Thank you for a place to live and for the job you’ve given me.
And thank you for all the small blessings every day that you surround me with. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
